WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York (CBS) is searching for a video journalist. We are the area`s dominant TV station and electronic media website (www.wbng.com). We want to hear from you because you are aggressive in your approach to your work. We seek qualified candidates who can shoot, write and edit. You must have solid news judgment, an eye for action and an ear for sound.

Duties include general editing for newscasts, operating a live truck and LiveU, and posting video and photo galleries to enhance website content. You will work with Multi-Media Journalists in the field as needed.

This is not an on-air position. However, preferred candidates can also respond to breaking news or take other general assignments, gather information, and write stories for broadcast and web. Video journalists may also shoot and edit natural sound pieces for broadcast.

You will also work with other videographers to maintain editing systems, equipment, news vehicles and file video for future use.

Pressure? You work great under pressure and can adjust to the often fast paced and changing nature of news. You can make smart decisions independently as well as in a group setting. You work closely with others on our staff to develop the brand and grow the product.

Experience preferred but outstanding college graduates will be considered.

KBJR 6/Range 11/KDLH 3 is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to assist at our Canal Park Studio on the Duluth waterfront. Responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance and operation of television broadcast equipment to include transmitters as applicable under FCC Regulations.

Primary duties will include troubleshoot and repair of master control and newsroom automation systems, TV transmitters and Digital ENG live trucks. Assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment used at the studio and transmitter facility. Work to maintain maximum system reliability and security. Resolve broadcast system and program failures, review software and hardware integrity and ensure minimal interruption to the operation.
Help repair transmitters in remote locations. Responsible for project planning and installation of technical systems as described by the supervisor. Perform other duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent with an Associate’s degree in electronics repair or equivalent experience in Broadcast Engineering; Harris TV transmitter training and Network+ or SBE certification preferred. Strong communication and computer skills required. Valid, current driver’s license and clean driving record required. Job requires individual to be “on-call” on occasion and available to work during emergencies.
